Pre-supernova Ring around Psr0540-69

چکیده
SNR0540-69 is a supernova remnant in the LMC, harbouring a young (τ ∼ 1600 yrs) radio/optical/X-ray pulsar (P=50 ms). Ground based Hα imaging of the region has shown a unique spiral-like structure centered around the pulsar. In narrow band HST imaging, the feature seems resolved in a ring-like structure, probably ejected by the progenitor star in a pre-supernova phase (≥ 10 yrs ago).

Optical images of SN 1987A show a triple ring structure. The inner (dust) ring has recently increased in brightness and in the number of hot spots suggesting that the supernova shock wave has collided with the dense pre-existing circumstellar medium, a scenario supported by radio and X-ray observations. Such a shocked environment is widely expected to result in the acceleration of charged parti...
متن کاملA Massive-star Forming Infrared Loop around the Crab-like Supernova Remnant G54.1+0.3: Post Main-sequence Triggered Star Formation?
We report the discovery of a star-forming loop around the young, Crab-like supernova remnant (SNR) G54.1+0.3 using the AKARI infrared satellite. The loop consists of at least 11 young stellar objects (YSOs) embedded in a ring-like diffuse emission of radius ∼ 1. The YSOs are bright in the mid-infrared and are also visible in the Spitzer Space Telescope Galactic plane survey images. Their Spitze...

Supernova remnant (SNR) Kes 69 is morphologically characterized by brightened radio, infrared, and X-ray emission on the southeastern rim, with the 1720 MHz OH masers detected in the northeastern and southeastern regions at various local standard rest (LSR) velocities. We have performed a millimeter observation in CO and HCO lines toward Kes 69. From the northeastern compact maser region, CO an...

متن کامل1 What next for the Likely Pre - Supernova , Hd 179821 ?
We have used the Owens Valley Radio Observatory Millimeter Array to obtain a map of the J = (1→0) CO emission from the circumstellar shell around HD 179821, a highly evolved G-type star which will probably explode as a supernova in the next 10 5 yr. Very approximately, the gas presents as a circular ring with an inner diameter of 3. ′′ 95, an outer diameter of ∼12 ′′ and with azimuthal variatio...
